More than 60 individuals- farmers and stakeholders in the agricultural sector convened from woreda to national levels paid a field visit to RAISE-FS supported activities carried out in 10 farmers’ fields and in the sub-research stations of Gondar Agricultural Research Center on the 1st of October 2022 at Mirab Armachiho woreda.
Participants of the field day visited seed multiplication activities of sesame, soya bean and sunflower on 12 hectares of land and participatory technology evaluation (PTE) of sesame and soya bean carried out in 10 farmers’ fields.
It was mentioned that the sesame and soybean improved technologies under trial have been visited by farmers twice and farmers evaluated the performance based on their own criteria.
Farmers and participants appreciated the efforts made by GARC and RAISE-FS in the woredas. RAISE-FS supported innovation testing activities to promote production diversity in the area and efficient and environmental friendly sustainable production.
Gondar ARC organized the field day as part of showcasing its overall operations, including the ones run in partnership with RAISE-FS. Several other activities carried out by GARC both in research stations and farmers’ plots were visited.
